Using Insurance Benefits
All Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska plans are accepted. If you have insurance through another company you may still be able to access out-of-network benefits to cover treatment costs.

How out-of-network reimbursement works
If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, they will cover a portion of the cost when you see a therapist who is out-of-network. Insurance companies often reimburse a percentage of the therapist's fee, usually after you meet an out-of-network deductible.

To use out-of-network benefits you pay upfront at each session. Afterwards you will be given a superbill (a special receipt) which you submit to your insurance company. This can usually be done through the insurance company website. The insurance company will directly reimburse you a portion of what you paid based on your benefits. Companies like Mentaya can take care of this process for you to make the process quick and hassle free.
Insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed. Ultimately it is the client's responsibility to understand their coverage. Reach out to your insurance provider to confirm out-of-network benefits ahead of meeting. If this is your first time using superbills, we'll support you in learning the process.

We offer a sliding scale fee structure for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured and otherwise unable to afford the full rate for sessions. The purpose of this offering is to reduce barriers to care and make services more accessible. It is a commitment to being in community and a recognition that traditional business models create barriers for far too many.

-
Do I have financial savings or investments?

-
Do I own property?
-

What if my vase is full or almost empty?
In order to sustain a healthy and vibrant practice where deep care can be provided, there is a limited number of spots available at lower rates. This model relies on trust and honesty. Asking you as the client to select a fee that truly matches your financial circumstances is an invitation to engage in a self-reflective process. In what ways have I benefited from my financial privileges? In what ways has financial hardship affected my life?
If you find that upon reflection your vase is full, I encourage you to pay the full vase rate. If there is no availability at the rate you identify is accessible to you, low-cost therapy resources and referrals can be provided.
Money is often hard to talk about, but our experiences with financial access, or lack of access, deeply impact our life. We are glad to have an open conversation, answer questions, and provide support.
Good Faith Estimate
If you are paying out of pocket or are not covered by healthcare it is your right to have a good faith estimate about treatment costs before your first appointment. For more information visit cms.gov.
